About the boutique
One woman.
One shop.
Twenty-fiveyears.
Lalita Boutique started in 2001 with one woman, one shop, and a sewing machine.
Lalita Parmar was 32. She had two young sons at home and a family to look after. The shop in Nadaun was modest — stuffed toys she made by hand, basic tailoring, and stitching classes for women in town who wanted a skill of their own. It wasn't a business plan. It was work.
Over the next two decades, the toys went away and the stitching stayed. The shop became a place women in Nadaun came to for clothes — for everyday wear, for festivals, for weddings. Twenty-four years of conversations made one thing clear: choice and quality were missing under a single roof in the hills.
In 2025, we opened our retail studio. Pick the cloth, pick the design, get it stitched — or walk out with something ready.

Twenty-five years,

From stuffed toys and a stitching class in a small shop, to a full retail studio with premium unstitched fabrics under one roof. The long way around.
2001
2001 → 24The stitching stayed.
The toys went away. Two decades of customer conversations: not enough choice, not enough quality, nothing under one roof. For the good stuff, you had to drive to the city.
2025The studio opens.
A new retail space on Jawalaji Road. Premium unstitched fabrics — Ganga, Omtex, Ramtex, Jayvijay, Rakhee — sit alongside the tailoring we've run for two decades.
2026Twenty-five years in.
Still family-run. Still made by hand. And now, a little more of it is online. We're trying to make a change in a small town — one garment at a time.
